Everest Expedition - 60 Days

Since the late 19th century, adventurous spirits have been fascinated with the ascent of the highest mountain in the world. Mt. Everest rises to an imposing 8850 meters (29,030 feet), and after 29 years of numerous attempts, Sir Edmund Hillary and Sherpa Tenzing Norgay became the first people to stand on the elusive summit on May 29, 1953. More then a thousand mountaineers have now stood on the summit of Everest and it continues to attract attention. These courageous climbers ascended through to the South Col from the Khumbu Glacier, and continued their ascent to the summit via the Southeast ridge. Their route is now referred to as the Normal Route and is the route would be ascended by Highlander.

Warning : Everest is the highest mountain on the planet and despite some of the publicity it is not 'easy' or even 'straightforward'. It is a very serious peak and bad judgment or even bad luck can be fatal up there. Even with the best companies the risk of frostbite and death is real.
