As we grow the communities around us share in that growth. A certain profit from our business is contributed to a project which includes:
- Building and operating School in Chepang Gaun through Roshans friend project.
- Helping schools at Khanigaun (Bhairab Kunda Trek area, Sindhupalchowk)
The school that we support in Khanigaun; we have been paying the salary of the school teacher for the last 7 years. From this year the government is going to take care of the school teachers' salary therefore we would be supporting to improve the school infrastructures. You can visit the School while you are on the trek to the Bhairab Kunda
If any one is interested to visit and support the school then Highlander will be happy to co-ordinate the project
Volunteerism: Coordinating with different children home around Kathmandu valley for the right volunteer placements.
Volunteerism is the best ways to experience a country. You get in touch with people, get to know cultures, and work seems to be a connecting point somehow, which leads to great experiences, not to mention that you go back having made an impact.
Most placements take place in and around the capital Kathmandu, with some specific placements taking place in trekking areas and in other towns and villages of Nepal.
The period of volunteering depends entirely on the custom work which will be determined through extensive communication between organization and the volunteer. General periods start at a minimum of one week to three months. This is an entirely self paid volunteering opportunity.
Stay can be arranged in home-stays or hotel stays depending on cultural immersion interests and budgets.
