PHERICHE- PHORTSE

We now finally had completed the main purpose of us going on that trek. In fact, we also went to the most beautiful and famous spot of the trail to Everest base camp which is known as kala Pathhar. The journey was much interesting and fun then I had expected. The journey was really hard for me to continue, because I had never been on a trip to any of the base camp before and when I got the chance it was Everest base camp. The day when we went to the famous spot kala Pathar we had gone to a village known as Pheriche for spending the night there. After so much of effort and hard work we had been able to climb up to the base camp of the highest peak of the world and now we were descending. Not only towards an airport but towards our day to day life. The hustle and bustle city life. All throughout the journey, I had realized the importance of travelling. You gain so much while on a trip no matter where it is. You not only have fun but you get to learn and see so many things. You realize what “the world” for other people actually is and how it differs from you. You were at a single place, you had seen very less, the only thing you did was visit places through your Instagram fee but the fact is there are so many things to do in life. If you are someone who is under their thick blanket and reading this article, just go and see around. There are so many things you can do with the same place you had gone before.

The night when we went to Pherische, all we team members did was laugh, sing, dance, eat and listen to all the stories they had to tell. We all were watching the videos of the things we had done all through the journey to the Everest base camp and laugh. As I had already mentioned, now we were descending. You had to descend to Phortse from Pherische. I was actually wishing to stay there for couple of days, but I had to start preparing for the entrance exam, so unfortunately I couldn’t stay there. That night in Pherische after all the fun we had had, we went to sleep. Next day we were descending to Phortse, so sleeping early was what we could do to wake up fresh in the morning.

The Phortse village which is at the altitude of 3810 meters, is a beautiful Sherpa village located in the trail to the Everest base camp. People who do not want to repeat the same Tyanboche rout and want to see something new prefers this route which I guess is reasonable too. Seeing the same thing which you have already seen doesn’t excite you. Even though we were descending but we had to keep our spirit still high. So we went through the Phortse village which is a modal ecotourism village. People here are mostly engaged in potatoes and buckwheat production. The trail between Pangboche to Phortse village is little narrower then you expect but it is worth everything. You get to see the view of Himalayan thar, yak, pheasant and eagle.
