GORAKSHEEP- KALAPATTHAR

So the main purpose of this whole trip- to reach the Everest base camp, we had finally achieved that. It literally was an achievement for me in fact it is still an achievement for me. Never in my life had I thought that I would be able to scale this trip. A girl who used to spend her day , scrolling through her social media , seeing girls of her age who used to post picture all day and question the purpose of her existence. I literally used to feel that posting those picture was to showoff and set unrealistic expectations for people. But I had already scaled the Everest base camp. Reaching there, seeing the view around, I simply preferred to stay there alone for a while and I kept watching that massive mountains under that bluish sky, I realized that life is more than just posting pictures on social media site. Even though I was not able to capture all the moments of that trip and post it on the site, I was still very happy. I had the most beautiful part of my life captured in my heart, brain and eyes. Something that I will embellish all my life. This trek actually made me very modest and I was thankful for everything I had in my life, I was missing my parents, I had not talked to them for so many days. Now I had to go to Khumbu and after that, I would descend to go back to my home and back to my loving people.

Kalapatthar is one of the most famous and desirable destination you will ever want to explore whenever you plan to go to the Everest base camp. Before I had started my trek, I had already read all the blog and articles regarding Everest base camp, I already had set the picture of the whole trek. I had expectations and the reality was much better than I had expected. Kalapatthar that means black rock is situated at the elevation of 5550 meters that is 18,208 feet is the highest point that we had to scale in our whole Everest base camp trek. This place is especially very famous for the sunrise and sunset view. It usually takes 2-3 ours for a person to reach to Kalapatthar from Gorakshep. Most of the people wakeup early in the morning usually 4:30 in the morning to view the amazing sunset rising from the highest peak of world –Mount Everest. Kala Patthar is the place where you will have the best view of the highest peak in the world. This kind of view cannot be seen from any part of the trek. The Kalapatthar is situated at the southern ridge of the mount Pumori. On the way to Kalapatthar you can enjoy the astonishing view of Mount Everest along with lakes, surrounding snow covered peaks. Can you imagine how magical the whole feeling of viewing the highest peak of the world would be like? After walking for so many days, walking so hard, moving out of your comfort zone, you get to see the highest peak of the world. Isn’t it the most amazing thing in the world?
