REST DAY

Finally after the two days of walking and climbing, my legs and my calf were so tired and paining that I couldn’t imagine walking any longer. I am so thankful to the tour operators that they understood what their clients might have been going through. We had a rest day on the third day. As soon as the tour operators revealed this, I was so happy. The night that we spent at Namche bazaar, it is something that I will remember all my life. We had drinks, we were dancing, we were singing. Many of the trekkers had a good knowledge about playing the guitar and thankfully the hotel had one. So we asked for a guitar and had a musical night. I including the tour operators were Nepali so we used to sing Nepal songs and confuse others while they were doing the same. That camp fire was really an amazing experience in my life. As we were already told that the day will be the acclimatization day, so we could literally dance and sing without thinking about anybody else. And when it comes to dance, I forget all the pain I have and dance as much as possible.

The next day, we got the chance to seep for a longer period of tie as we had rest day. As soon as I woke up, I asked the owner of the hotel, to warm a bucket of water for me. I had to pay some extra bucks for that. I put my leg inside the bucket and my legs somewhat became ready for the day. From there we were told to prepare ourselves for the day. We had a hot coffee and an apple pancake and we were ready to go.

Namche Bazaar

Namche bazar is known as the gate of Everest. On the way up to the trek, we were already told that this place is going to be the least comfortable for us because as up as we go, chances were we had to make adjustments with the accommodation and food. So we made sure that our phones, power bank everything is charged. We left for our day and I must say the whole outlook of Namche bazaar is so beautiful that you get lost in the Himalayas. The view is extremely beautiful and alluring. We got the chance to visit the Sherpa monasteries which were so beautifully made. The colored Tibetan flags were hanging all around the monastery which made it look more beautiful. We went to some of the Sherpa houses, they welcomed us so nicely, and had a chat with us. There, we get the chance to see what they eat and how they live. I feel this is the most beautiful part of travelling and I realized why travelling is also called learning. It also has a Sherpa cultural museum which lies in a plateau.

Initially I thought they kept the rest day, so that we could have some rest and warm up for the other challenging days to come. But not only that, the purpose of rest day was to make us comfortable and used to with the lower oxygen level as soon as we move upwards.

Finally after the day at Namche bazar, we had to go back to hotels, have our dinner and sleep.
