to mt everest day 5 intro

TENGBOCHE – DINGBOCHE

As I have already mentioned, Tyangboche is a place where you can properly view the Ama Dablam Peak. The whole surrounding and the vibe that you get sitting in one of the guest houses of this place is so surreal and peaceful. The place is so calming and soothing, I forgot I was hungry and tired for a while. After I had finished watching all the view and store all the beauty of that place inside my eyes, we ordered our lunch. It was pretty good. The macaroni cheese which seemed to be like pasta sprinkled with some cheese on it. Being honest I was actually missing Chatpate. Chatpate is a Nepali snack which tastes spicy and sour and its price is reasonable too. A plate of Chatpate worth 30 rupees was enough to erase the hunger out of your stomach. But unfortunately, I couldn’t had it there as I was not supposed to get sick on my way to Everest base camp.

We were finally at our designated rooms of our designated guest house. We were actually tired but not as much as compared to the first day of our trek. We were now used to walking for longer hours. With a cup of coffee in our hands we kept on looking outside the window of our room. The bluish sky turned into purple and slowly to dark and now we had to take dinner. It was pretty satisfying. We had to sleep early to get up tomorrow in time.  We had to walk from Tyanboche to Dingboche.

Next morning I woke up to the swift flow of cold air touching my cheeks, I watched out of the window of my room and the view of the whole Tyangboche village. My words were “WOW!” The sun was about to rise and the sky above those thick snowcapped mountains was orange. The view was spectacular. It completely changed my outlook on life, I was getting modest and thankful to everything I had in my life. The vistas I got to see where ever I had turned and those friendly locals of this place is what makes it so desirable and life changing. If I go back to 4000 meters below and fly for a while I will be at a completely different place. And right then I was standing there, with few people around me with the same objectives and no any other human being but I felt a life more than I had ever felt standing in a crowd of a crowded city.

We had to start our trek from the elevation of 3870 meters that means 12697 feet. We were aiming to reach Dhingboche which was at the elevation of 4410 meters that means 14469 feet. We literally had to walk 3 hours and half to cover the total distance of 10.8 kilometers. The trail was now snowier and ice was all over the patches. One simple mistake and would slip badly. So we had towards real slow but maintain our pace without taking any breaks on the way. Though the weather was real cold but due to the continuous walking our body was filled with sweat. All through the trail I could simply view the mountains as if they were following me.

After walking for three hours and half I realized we have finally made it to Dhingboche. We saw Himalayan wildlife on the way up to Dhingboche but I do not know what its name was. It seemed to look like yak with long and sharp horns. Dhingboche is way larger than Tyangboche. And yes, the view is definitely beautiful.
