DINGBOCHE TO LOBUCHE

After the soothing and resting day at Dingboche, our destination for the sixth day was Lobuche. Last night, we had ate our dinner early and went to sleep earlier as well. The weather was really cold and at the middle of the night I had to wake up and ask the owner for another blanket. Even though I went to the bed early, I couldn’t sleep due to cold. At the midnight stepping down the stairs without any light to wake up the owner so that they could give me another blanket. It was a very embarrassing thing for me. Initially, I thought I would be fine with this much cold but then I thought about my health and I had to go and ask for an extra blanket. I knocked the door of the owner, she wasn’t opening the door and I had to knock for 5-6 times. She opened the door and gave a look to me, which was really funny. Thankfully, she gave me the blanket and I went to sleep.

We were at an elevation of 4410 meters above the sea level i.e. 14,470 feet and we were aiming to go to Lobuche which was at the altitude of 4910 meters above the sea level i.e.16,109 feet. We had to walk for 6-7 hours to reach to that elevation. In short, we were trying to cover that distance in just 7 hours. Before this day, we were only walking for four hours or three hours but this time he level and the challenge was up. Trying to walk for straight seven hours for a person who was walking for three hours, I could already imagine how my legs were going to pain a lot.

Our guide told me us about a small village called Perische which was few feet below the Dingboche village. As we had started our journey, we saw other trekkers, followed by their porters carrying their goods and tents and all the necessary things needed for the camp. On the trail, the mountains seemed so closed and the sky was clear, blue as it had never been and the whole landscape was really pretty. We kept on walking and finally after some hours’ of walking we were at the village called Thukla where other porters were coming up with their loads. We decided to stay there for a while, take rest, soak up into the beauty of our surrounding and take pictures too. After spending some time there at Thukla we again started our journey. Before coming to Thukla we had passed a metal footbridge which was made above a small river. We kept on walking and slowly after some hours of walking I saw colorful tents and our guide told us that the tents were made by the trekkers who had come to scale the surrounding peaks. After walking for a while we were finally at Lobuche . After reaching there we realized that we were almost near to our trip to Everest Base Bamp.
