13 Days In Nepal To Mt. Everest | Day 1

KATHMANDU- LUKLA- PHAKDING

So, one day I was scrolling through my social media site and I saw an actress who had recently posted a picture of her and her lover at the top of a peak. Suddenly an idea hit my mind and I took the decision of going to Everest Base Camp. How cool am I?

Then, I decided I would write what my trip was like. So here it is.

Initially, it was really hard for me to convince my parents because it is hard trek to complete. Finally, I was set to go a trek to the Everest base camp. The camp of the highest peak of the world. Doesn’t it sound very amazing?

Kathmandu to Lukla

On the way to Lukla, I got the chance to enjoy so many diverse landscape all through my journey. It really made me think how lucky I am to be the part of this small country and yes, I had already made so many friends from other countries and I could literally be proud about the fact that I am a Nepali. I had this strong urge to try the fish in Maleku which is very famous but I unfortunately couldn’t do it.  We had planned to try thakali food after while returning back to Kathmandu. I wonder how mouthwatering it might taste.

Finally we reached Lukla. We had some fellow trekkers who had travelled through road ways and they were really happy that they got the chance to visit different districts and enjoy the landscape of the country and how amazing the trip was. After that as, we finally landed on the Lukla, we went to the hotel to have some food. Lukla had lots of hotels and lodges which served us with quality food and comfortable accommodation. We decided to stay there for a while and take rest and prepare ourselves for the trip. I had to share my room with Scarlet, who was an American citizen. It was really fun to know about each other’s culture. She also told me about her break up story and how she planned a trip to the Everest to move on and enjoy her life for a while. It was really great meeting her and we promised to stay in contact. She even invited me to her home whenever I will be there in the US. It was a really sweet gestures.

After a deep conversation with her, we had to aim to go to Phakding. Phakding is small village in Khumbu region.it is situated in an altitude of 2610 meters which is also one of the UNESCO world heritage site. We had to trek for straight 3 hours to reach Phakding.
