13 Days In Nepal To Mt. Everest | Day 2

PHAKDING – NAMCHE BAZAAR
I think I already mentioned my American friend – Scarlet, she was there with me all through the journey. We got the chance to take so many pictures. On the way up to the trek to Phakding, I got to know about her hobbies and the person that she is. So sweet, honest and innocent. We literally became like best friends. The way up to Phakding, the tour operators were also happy seeing us getting closer and friendlier. Both of us were young and both of us didn’t really had the experience of going on a trek before and she also mentioned about how much trouble she had while convincing her parents. On the way up to Phakding we spend a night in a teahouse. We again asked the tour operators to make arrangements of us sharing the room. We not only had fun while walking but we also got the chance to have fun even when we were at the teahouse. It was so comfortable but I was feeling really cold, so I asked the owner to get me another blanket and she did. Amazing hospitality and friendly and welcoming people. I wonder what we could have asked more than that.

The next day, we started to trek from Phakding to Namche bazaar. We had our alarms set. We wore comfortable clothes so that we won’t have trouble while walking. We had carried mineral water bottle in our bags and some medicines. The weather was too cold even when we went there during the monsoon. Thankfully our trip didn’t get interrupted because of the bad weather. All of us were told to get ready and meet at a location – it was in front of the teahouse. Everybody with their smiling faces, excitement and hope of having a great trip met there and we went on towards the journey.

We had started our journey from the elevation of 2610 meters above the sea level that means 8563 feet and we were aiming to reach to Namche bazar which is at the elevation of 3440 meters above the sea level that means 11290 feet. We had to cover a distance of 7.4 kilometers in 4 hours and 15 minutes. On the way up to the trek we got to see lots of other trekkers who were from different countries. Some of them were from Australia and some of them were from Germany. Though we had different travel agency working for us but we still managed to become friends with them and finally we were a team now. Some of them were couples and some of them were students. As we never had a serious walk, my calf was killing me. It was so painful but I still tried my best to bear that pain continue my journey because I already knew it was worth of everything. On my way up to the Namche bazar, every crowded or populated town that I saw, I thought it to be Namche bazaar. I was eagerly waiting to reach to Namche bazar as it was really getting hard for me. On the way from Phakding to Namche bazaar, I saw so many people, especially kids who were running from here to there and playing with the stones. They were so happy to see us. Passing the suspension bridge or climbing the rough trail, the journey was though very fun and amazing. After all we were on a trip to the Everest base camp.
On the way up there, I saw Namche bakery which served so many favor full bakery items. It also had free Wi-Fi, charging points. We decided to stay there for a while. Everybody was busy finding their chargers and phone and laptop. From there we walked for a while a finally reached to our destination.
