TREKKING IN THE HIMALAYAS OF NEPAL
Always known as the land of Himalayas, Nepal is a country rich in geographical diversity. Most tourist choose Nepal as their dream destination site to satisfy their fantasy of scaling ot trekking in one of the famous peaks in the world. Many people around the world land in the Tribhuwan International Airport with a dream to scale one of these peaks or at least reach to its base camp. Majority of the tourists come to Nepal with the aim to reach the Everest Base Camp or Annapurna Base Camp. These two trekking destination welcomes the most number of trekkers in the Nepal.
Everest Base Camp
Situated in one of the UNESCO world heritage site of the world – Sagarmatha National Park, the Mount Everest is one of the major attractions for tourists in Nepal. Everest Base Camp is a dream land for many as this trek takes you close to the tallest peak in the world. The trek to this site usually takes 13-15 days and the site is located at an elevation of 5380 meters above the sea level. On the way to the trek, you will get to see some authentic Sherpa villages which are rich in Sherpa monasteries which are decorated by the prayer flags. From this trail, you will get to see some of the amazing mountain peaks of the mahalangur Himalayan range. The route starts from Lukla airport and ends there too. There are two routes you can choose to go from. One is Phortse and the other one is Dingboche. One of the famous site in this trek that is Kala Pathar is famous for the amazing sunrise view.

Annapurna Base Camp
Another famous trekking site in Nepal is Annapurna Base Camp located in the Annapurna range. To get there, you first have to reach Pokhara. It is protected by Annapurna sanctuary which is again considered as a sacred place by the Tamang and Gurung people. They believe that Annapurna sanctuary is a home to various deity and there are lots of gold and treasure to be protected. The best season to go to this site is February, March, April. May, late September, October, November and December. Avoid going on a trek to this site during monsoon as it is hazardous and even if you reach, you won’t get the chance to view the beautiful panoramic mountain ranges. This trek lasts for 5-7 or 15+ days depending upon the route you take. The age limit is quiet vast than any other trekking destination. The sanctuary has a huge number of bamboo and rhododendron trees which adds color to the landscape. If you are someone for whom greenery and landscapes matter then Annapurna base camp is for you.

Other than these famous trekking sites in Nepal, some of the trekking sites are unexplored and are completely unaware of what is happening in the outer world. Most of the people do not go there even if it has a beautiful view to offer. You can even try mountain biking in these trekking site. The sites like Upper Mustang, Upper Manang and Upper Dolpo trek are completely unexplored trekking site of Nepal.
