The cities in the Kathmandu Valley are made up of 3 ancient cities and Patan is located across the Bagmati River to the south of Kathmandu city. Patan is also known as Lalitpur, the city of fine arts. According to legend the founding of Patan dates back to Pre-Christian times. As opposed to the Malla cities of Kathmandu and Bhaktapur that were mainly influenced by the Hindu religion, Patan was for many years a major Buddhist city. It is believed that it was founded in the third century B.C. by the famous Buddhist emperor, Ashoka, who visited the town while on a pilgrimage from Northern India and built four stupas that enclosed the center of the old town.
Khokana is tiny traditional village lies about 8 km from south of Kathmandu which has hold its own tradition and culture. The village is popular for its oil pressing center where mustard seeds are pressed using traditional methods. Traditional weaving done by elderly ladies, men crushing seeds on the street and courtyards are the daily activities that could be seen in this farming communities.
Bungamati is also known as a winter home of the Red Machhendra god of Patan who inhabit every winter in a big temple in Bungmati. Its large courtyard is often used for spreading grain to dry in the sun at harvest time. The long array of local houses attached to each other with similar style can be seen together with hanging red chilies in threads.
Bhaktapur which is one of the three ancient cities within the Kathmandu valley. It is the home of true medieval art and architecture and without a doubt the most historically authentic.
We leave early in the morning from Kathmandu and make our way along river valleys, past terraced fields to rafting starting point and raft in one of the popular river in Nepal. We enjoy some of the 2-3 grade rapids and drive to the wilderness of jungle in chitwan national park which is one of the finest national parks in Asia and listed as a world heritage site since 1984. It covers an area of 932 square kilometres and is renowned for its variety and amount of wildlife.

Lumbini is a Buddhist pilgrimage site where lord Buddha was born and he founded Buddhism. The holy site of Lumbini is bordered by a large monastic zone in which only monasteries can be built, no shops, hotels or restaurants. It is separated into an eastern and western monastic zone, the eastern having the Theravadin monasteries, the western having Mahayana and Vajrayana monasteries.
The holy site of Lumbini has ruins of ancient monasteries, a sacred Bodhi tree, an ancient bathing pond, the Asokan pillar and the Mayadevi temple, where the precise place of birth of Buddha is located. From early morning to early evening, pilgrims from various countries perform chanting and meditation at the site.
Today we move to hill of west Nepal. Tansen was the capital of the Magar kingdom Tanahun, one of the most powerful regional principalities before the rise of the Shah Dynasty. This old town offers magnificent panorama view of Himalayan to the north and flat landscape of terai to the south.
Pokhara is one of the most popular tourist destinations in Nepal. The northern skyline of the city offers a very close view of the Himalayas. Its pristine air, spectacular backdrop of snowy peaks, serene lakes and surrounding greenery make it ‘the jewel in the Himalaya’, a place of remarkable natural beauty.

Mahendra cave is predominantly a limestone cave and the cave if full of natural formation made by regular seeps of water through the ceiling. Close to Mahendra cave, Bat cave as the name suggests full of bats.
Gupteswor Mahadev cave is considered 599 years old. The long flights of stairs wind down to the temple of lord shiva where the lord perched on a raised platform.
Davi`s fall is a fascinating water full, during the monsoon season. The water level in Devi`s fall rises to an amazing height; the most turbulent water currents engulf even the safety barrier built around the falls. Its one of the most fascinating waterfalls in Pokhara and one of its kind in Nepal.
Later on, we visit Tibetan Refugee camp, after the invasion of Tibet by Chinas, the influx of refugees to Nepal via boarder increased and started settling down in Nepal. We will take you to the camp where the Tibetan refugees are settled and see their daily activities, cultural and monastery.
Before we start our journey back to Kathmandu, it an early wake up call to visit one of the most popular hill stations of Pokhara. We drive to Sarangkot which is spectacular sport 2000ft above the sea level overlooking the Pokhara valley with three highest mountains in the world. Watching the Himalayas from Sarangkot has surreal experience. The golden rays of the sun painting the majestic mountain are incomparable.
