The trip includes the classic route to Annapurna base camp and then climbing to the most popular climbing peak in Annapurna region at the height of 5663 meter. Tharpu chuli offers an interesting climb to the top and spectacular 360 degree view of Mt. Annapurna and its surrounding mountain despite of it height. Technically not a difficult climbing peak but need to be good shape and acclimatize with the height.
During our trip we enjoy the lower section of annapuarna region and its beautiful view point, passing through rhododendron forest, rivers, stunning sunrise and gaining the height slowly up to the Annapurna base camp and we camp further up in the moraine and get prepare for our climb. We gain the ridge again to fix our high camp and further crossing the glacier we head for our steep climb to the top of tent peak.
We leave early in the morning from Kathmandu and make our way along river valleys, past terraced fields to Pokhara and stay overnight.
Driving Time: approx.7 hoursAfter breakfast you drive from Pokhara to Nayapul (1035m) by Local Bus. The drive is around 1 ½ hours by bus (around 46 kms). After the drive you cross the suspension bridge over the ModiKhola river and ascend slowly through terraced fields and classic mountain villages up from the river valley to Tikhedhunga.
Height: Tikhedhunga 1540mYou have a steep ascent to get you going and then a more gradual uphill walk takes you to your lodge at Ghorepani. You will pass through some delightful villages and the beautiful, dense rhododendron forest so characteristic of Nepal at these altitudes. If the weather is clear you will see stunning mountain views from Ghorepani, making the climb well worth it!
Height: Ghorepani 2750mYou get up early to hike to Poon Hill (3210m) for sunrise; Approx. 1 ½ hour hike; Distance approx. 2 Kms. After breakfast back in Ghorepani you trek onwards to Tadapani through rhododendron forests. If you are lucky you will see some wild animals, such as langur monkeys climbing through the trees. There are excellent views of Annapurna South, Hiunchuli and achhapuchhare from Tadapani.
Height: Poon Hill 3210m, Tadapani 2710mA short distance after Tadapani, the trail veers northwards and comes out into a small clearing before dropping sharply to Chiukle, where there are a few lodges. A maze of small paths leads down through terraced fields to a large suspension bridge over the KimringKhola. After the bridge, we climb up past a school and along the terraces to the small village of KlisigoChiukle. After a while we will see a succession of waterfalls. From here the trail climbs a little, continuing along the terraces to join the main Ghandrung - Chomrong route. Chomrong itself is a beautiful village, typically Gurung in style, situated in the lap of the great Annapurna massif. Chomrong has evolved into two separate settlements, new Chomrong at the top (2040m) and old Chomrong below (1950m), the main part of the village. Chomrong is the highest permanent settlement in the valley.
Height: Chhomrong 2100mThe trail descends from Chhomrong to cross ChhomrongKhola before climbing steeply through a rhododendron and bamboo forest, up the west bank of the ModiKhola. Immediately after leaving, you reach the small settlement of KhuldiGhat before another steep descent into the valley. The trial follows the river through another tiny settlement known as Bamboo which has some tea houses and crosses three streams before arriving at Dovan (2430m) and overnight.
Heights: Dovan 2430mThis morning you start a long climb through intermittent bamboo forest. The valley becomes increasingly hemmed in by ever steeper slopes and there are regular streams crossing on the trial. You can also have some rest at Himalaya Hotel (2873m) before climbing to Hinko(3139m), a short path to Deurali(3231m) and on through Bagar to reach Machhapuchhare Base Camp.
Heights: Machhapuchhare Base Camp 3700mThis is a short a hike of around two hours following the left hand tributary of the Modikhola to reach the destination of the famous ABC.
Height: ABC 4130mCrossing the South Annapurna Glacier we head through moraine to Tharpu chuli base camp.
Height: 4300mIt is going to be tough days with steep climb up to high camp which offer a magnificent view over Annapurna range.
Height: 5100mWe get up midnight and ready for our final destination to the top of tent peak. We cross the glacier, take snow slope ridge and finally climb the steeply sharp ridge to reach the top of Tharpu chuli. All your hard work will be rewarded by the 360 degree view of the great Himalaya and we descend down to Base camp.

Heights: JhinuDanda 1700mWe can enjoy a final down hill walk through forests and villages for about 6 hours to Nayapul. From here we drive for about 1 hour back to Pokhara where our trek ends and we can enjoy a shower and relax on this stunning Lakeside town enjoying the memories!
